INDIA: Hospitality Course Launches In India For Travel And Tourism Students

The Ashok Institute of Hospitality of the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has collaborated with the National Council for Hotel and Catering Technology to launch a three year BSc course in hospitality in India.

ITDC came into existence nearly forty years ago, and it has been the prime mover in the progressive development, promotion, and expansion of tourism in India. The corporation runs hotels and restaurants at various places for tourists, in addition to providing transport facilities. The ITDC is also engaged in the production, distribution, and sale of tourist publicity literature and provides entertainment and duty-free shopping facilities for tourists.

The corporation has diversified into new avenues and innovative services like this partnership for a hospitality course, as well as other services such as Full-Fledged Money Changer (FFMC) services and engineering related consultancy services. Presently, ITDC has a network of 8 Ashok group of hotels, 5 joint venture hotels, one restaurant, 11 transport units, 9 duty-free shops at airports and seaports, and 2 sound & light shows.

Students of the program will get an opportunity to get the best of education and training from the two prestigious institutes, leading to a positive launch into the career field of travel and tourism.
