Salalah Tourism Festival 2015 is all set to open today at the Itin Festival Ground. Good turnout is expected for the inaugural function, as the opening day has coincided with Oman’s Renaissance Day. The opening thus is going to be an important event not only for Salalah but for whole of the Sultanate.
According to the officials of the Dhofar Municipality, the organiser of the festival, the main events for the day have been scheduled keeping in mind the Renaissance Day. Thus on the opening day national fervour would dominate over regular fun and frolic of the festival.
The festival would open with a loyalty march, in which people from different nationalities will take part. The march would start from Itin roundabout at 5 pm and conclude at the festival ground. Other highlights of the festival evening are singing and poetry competitions and distribution of prizes for the winners.
