CHINA: Shanghai Disneyland Tickets Announced

Tickets prices have been announced for Disney's first theme park on the Chinese Mainland.

Tickets go on sale to the public from March 28 and will cost 370 yuan (about US$56) for regular admission.

Peak pricing for holidays and weekends has been set at 499 yuan, and will include the two-week opening period from June 16-30.

Tickets for children and seniors are priced at 280 yuan and two-day park passes are also available at a 5% discount, Disney said.

"Shanghai Disneyland's two-tiered pricing and date-specific tickets will allow the park to manage the extraordinary anticipated demand," a company statement said.

Shanghai Disneyland's admission prices are cheaper than Greater China's other Disney park - Hong Kong Disneyland, which costs HK$539 ($69) for an adult, although it does not charge more for peak periods.

The Shanghai park, which is Disney's sixth worldwide, is expected to attract about 25 million visitors a year.
