TANZANIA: Intimate Places Tanzania Gives Up Mount Meru Game Lodge

Intimate Places Ltd. has leased Mount Meru Game Lodge from its owners since the 1st April 2004. In the period since January 2014, the company has been in discussions with the owners of the lodge to ask them to invest money in upgrading their property. They have thus far failed to do so and no improvements have taken place.

With the passage of time, the gap between the quality of the accommodation we are able to provide to our guests at Mount Meru Game Lodge and that which we are able to provide them at Buffalo Luxury Camp, Camp Zebra and Intimate Places Camping has grown ever wider.

Given that Mount Meru Game Lodge is in many ways the “face” of Intimate Places and given the lack of any new investment in the property over many years, we have taken the very difficult decision not to renew our lease agreement on the lodge effective from the 31st December 2015.

Mount Meru Game Lodge has been our base of operations as well as our “home” for the best part of 12 years and it is therefore with a sense of great sadness that we now move on.
