Turkey: Antalya Gazipasa Airport Opens New Terminal Building

Antalya Gazipasa Airport in Turkey has opened its new terminal building, as part of its expansion programme.The terminal building covers an area of 6,400m² and is three times the size of the old terminal.

Operated by TAV Airports, Gazipasa Airport’s new terminal features additional aircraft parking areas, X-rays and passport counters, as well as an extended 22,000m² apron.Following the expansion, Antalya Airport’s annual capacity has now increased to handle 1.5 million passengers.

TAV Gazipasa operations coordinator Cengiz Asikli said: “Gazipasa Airport continues expanding its destination network and contributing to the region’s and country’s tourism sector. We hosted approximately 363,000 passengers at our airport in 2013.”We reached approximately 250,000 passengers in the first half of 2014. Soon, Turkish Airlines will be launching 14 flights a week from Istanbul Atatürk Airport to Gazipasa Airport.”Gazipasa Airport will soon become the new centre of attraction with the new and existing flights from other airlines.”
