INDIA: Ex-Airbus Boss Becomes New Chief Executive

Indian commercial and passenger vehicles manufacturer Tata Motors has appointed former Airbus executive Guenter Butschek as its new managing director and chief executive officer -- positions which have remained vacant for nearly two years following the death of car industry veteran Karl Slym.

Butschek will lead all Tata Motors operations in India and in its international markets, which include South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and South Africa, India's largest passenger vehicle maker said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The luxury car brand business Jaguar Land Rover would continue to be managed by its chief executive and director, Ralf Speth, Tata added.
