CHINA: Chinese Airlines Waive Off Change Fees For Flights To Taiwan Following Earthquake

Due to a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck in southern Taiwan on early Saturday, Chinese airlines including Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Airlines have waived off rebooking and refund charges for flights to Taiwan.

The earthquake struck about 30 miles east of Tainan, a city of more than 1.8 million, just before 4:00 a.m. Kaohsiung International Airport and Taipei International Airport are operating normally.

Air China said in a statement that passengers are allowed to refund or rebook their trips free of charge if they are holding a confirmed booking on CA flights on/after February 6 and on/before February 22.

No refund and rebooking charge or penalty shall be collected.

Other Chinese airlines are also making moves, including China Eastern, Sichuan Airlines and two Taiwan-based carriers.
