GAMBIA: Gambia Tourism Board Within The Tourism Development Area- Bijilo To Brufut Heights

The Management of The Gambia Tourism Board is pleased to inform the general public that following the demolition exercise of all the illegal beach bars and make-shift structures within the Tourism Development Area- Bijilo to Brufut Heights; in an efforts to regularize and set standards within the TDA, that a total of 21 beach bars measuring 10m x 12m each within a 2km stretch between Bijilo and Brufut Heights Beach has been demarcated.

Out of the 21 demarcated plots for beach bars, 17 have been allocated to the previous operators, who were affected by the demolition. The new beach bars are to be constructed in line with the standard set by the GTBoard in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture; and the Department of Physical Planning and Housing as per the below agreed proto types:

The allotees are therefore urged to ensure compliance with their chosen proto type in constructing their new beach bars; and to ensure that all conditions of allocation stipulated in their allocation letters are well adhered to.
