Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) expects to carry more than 30 million passengers next year, it said in a statement on Monday.
The Saudi national carrier reportedly plans to increase its fleet from 119 planes to 200 by 2020 as it rapidly expands in a market that is experiencing significant growth.
It is currently privatising, gradually selling off its various businesses.
Two new airlines are due to enter the Saudi domestic market to help soak up the demand. However, they have been repeatedly delayed from launching.
General Authority of Civil Aviation had refused to grant the required license to Al Maha Airways and Saudi Gulf Airlines because they had not passed safety standards.
