THAILAND: Australian Nurse Sues AirAsia After Stewardess Falls On Her

A Melbourne woman is suing AirAsia after an air stewardess fell on her during bad turbulence and injured her foot.

Erin Crocker, a 36-year-old nurse, was returning from a family holiday in Thailand on April 4 last year when the plane hit severe turbulence and she was thrown on the floor.

The air stewardess lost her balance and fell on Crocker, landing on her right foot and causing injuries that required major surgery, said the report.

Crocker suffered multiple joint fractures, a ligament tear and deep vein thrombosis, and was forced to take weeks off work.

She is seeking damages for pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, medical expenses and loss of income, the report said.

Crocker has reportedly rejected a settlement offer from the airline.

Crocker initially did not want to continue with her claim when she learnt of the crash of Indonesia AirAsia Flight QZ8501 on Dec 28.

"Ms Crocker did not want to continue her claim when she learned of the QZ8501 crash, as she was of the view she would be taking money away from those victims, but now she's determined to fight on," her lawyer Nancy Yonan was quoted as saying.

AirAsia has not responded on the report
