ISRAEL: Missing Israeli Tourist Found Dead in Hungary

Two locals held in relation to Ofir Gross' death after his family members identify his body, which was discovered by Hungarian police.

The body of missing Israeli tourist Ofir Gross was identified by his family in Hungary on Sunday.

Earlier, Hungarian police alerted the Israeli embassy in Budapest that it had found Gross' body. As a result, Gross' family members made their way to Hungary, where they identified the body.

Two locals have been detained on suspicion for their roles in the murder, Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon said.

On Friday, his sister Liron Gross wrote on her Facebook page that her brother had been missing for a week and asked the public's help to locate him.

"Ofir used to contact us every day and that's why the loss of contact is disturbing," she wrote. She noted that his last known place of residence was the town of Tiszakécske, and that there was evidence that he was interested in reaching the city of Debrecen.
