PAPUA NEW GUINEA: International Finance Corporation Partnering With Papua New Guinea To Improve Tourism

The IFC, a part of the World Bank, said the data gathered would help improve visitor services, inform marketing activities, and increase investment in the tourism sector.

The New Zealand Tourism Research Institute at Auckland University, in partnership with the Papua New Guinea Tourism Promotion Authority (TPA), will conduct the international visitor survey.

It will measure travel patterns and the behaviour of visitors arriving by air and track their spending while they are in the country.

PNG, which is considered to have unrivalled tourism potential, had 198,685 recorded visitors last year.
