ATTRACTIONS IN AND AROUND ABU DHABI

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque:

This architectural marvel is one the world’s largest mosques, with a capacity to hold an astonishing 41,000 worshippers. It is a no-miss. The details and workmanship on both its exterior and its interior will leave an indelible mark on anyone visiting this truly “grand” mosque that is the namesake of the founding father of the UAE.

Abu Dhabi Corniche:

This eight kilometer stretch of manicured waterfront extends along Corniche Road beyond Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street (30th Street), where you’ll find its main entrance.
Capital Gate:

This skyscraper in Abu Dhabi is a no-miss; nicknamed the Leaning Tower of Abu Dhabi. It is located adjacent to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) and is designed to lean 18-dgrees to the West; more than four times that of the Leaning Tower of Suurhusen. At 160 m (520 ft) and 35 stories high, it is one of the tallest buildings in the city. In June 2010, the Guinness Book of World Records certified Capital Gate as the "World’s furthest leaning man-made tower."

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi:

It’s fast and furious fun for all ages at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi - the world’s first Ferrari theme park and the largest attraction of its kind. The park boasts more than 20 unique rides and attractions. In addition to the rides and unique simulators the park offers a wide variety of Italian restaurants, unique shopping experiences and dedicated entertainment.

Yas Marina Circuit:

The Home of the F1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi! And when the races are not on, the track is open once a week in the evenings for runners and cyclists to enjoy the magnificent track. It’s the place to experience if you enjoy the outdoors.

Yas WaterWorld:

For a full-day experience, this futuristic Yas Island waterpark spans an area of around 15 football pitches, with 43 rides, slides and attractions – five of which are one-of-a-kind.

Saadiyat Island and Manarat Al Saadiyat:

One of the most impressive development projects of Abu Dhabi, which will become home to many world class museums during the coming years. The Saadiyat Cultural District will soon include the Zayed National Museum, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi and Performing Arts Centre. The Manarat Al Saadiyat Centre offers great insights into the future development of the island which will feature also a range of hospitality and leisure offerings, including the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and a Public Beach.

Al Ain:

A lush green oasis town with palm plantations, markets, including the camel market, it also offers its visitors a glimpse into its past in its Al Ain Museum or the Al Ain Palace. For someone interested in seeing the world from the highest mountain of the UAE, Jebel Hafeet is the place to see. If you’re an avid hiker, there are hiking groups in the region that plan trips there and other areas.

Liwa Oasis:

Liwa Oasis is the historical home of the Al Nahyan family. It is largest oasis of the UAE, located at the edge of the ‘Empty Quarter’ - well known for its date plantations and breath-taking sand dunes.

Sir Bani Yas:

This natural island is located 250 km (160 mi) southwest of Abu Dhabi. It is 17.5 km (10.9 mi) from north to south and 9 km (5.6 mi) from east to west making it the largest natural island in the UAE. Sir Bani Yas island was originally home to Arabia's largest wildlife reserve.

Spanning over 87 km2 (34 sq mi), the reserve was established in 1971 by the late ruler and founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Because of intensive conservation work and ecological investment, the Island is now home to thousands of large free-roaming animals and several million trees and plants. It is also a bird sanctuary as well as a wildlife reserve.

Activities on the Island include adventure safaris, kayaking, mountain biking, archery, hiking and snorkelling.
