A EgyptAir flight, MS-859, enroute to South Sudan’s capital Juba has been forced to return to Cairo Airport more than one hour after takeoff.
One source who decline to be named said they do not know what actually happened when they were surprisingly told by crew members that the plane is returning to Cairo airport over unidentified technical issue.
We were surprised when we were told by the pilots that the plane was heading back to Cairo. We thought we were about to arrive in Juba and I think we already left the Red Sea, a passenger said.
Another source said the passengers have been accommodated in a hotel at Cairo airport until a new airplane is availed the following morning.
EgyptAir has two regular weekly flight to Juba every Friday and Monday
