“It is a matter of pride to announce that AMI will be the home to the maiden Mövenpick resort in Ras Al Khaimah,” said Al Abdouli. “This partnership represents an iconic addition to the veritable gems on the picturesque AMI Island and it will increase our market share of the five-star hotel rooms in Ras Al Khaimah. An exceptional location for the resort has been allocated on Breeze Island making this project an exceptional combination of service and location to provide the highest standards of comfort to our guests.

“It is always very exciting when we enter a new destination and Ras Al Khaimah is a fantastic addition to our portfolio. We have extensive experience operating large, beachfront resorts for families and teaming up with great partners to bring this project to fruition is something we are really looking forward to,” said Mattmüller.

“Ras Al Khaimah is quickly becoming a top destination of choice for local, regional and international visitors, and our hospitality sector has shown consistent growth. As part of our strategy to diversify our product offering and hotel brands, developments such as this one with Mövenpick will ensure we are able to continue to meet the demands of travellers as we work towards our goal of welcoming one million visitors by the end of 2018,” added Haitham Mattar, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.

UAE: Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority Targets Indian Tourist Market

Ras Al Khaimah has signed an agreement with Cox & Kings, a leading tour operator from India, to strengthen its relationship and expand its presence in the Indian market, which is one of the fastest outbound markets in the region.

This agreement will focus on promoting the various aspects of Ras Al Khaimah and popularize it in the Indian market.

The agreement, which was signed today at Arabian Travel Market (ATM), will take effect from May 1. The partnership will also introduce Ras Al Khaimah to the Indian market through specially created itineraries, creation of stand alone tourism products for the emirate and market the destination via a series of campaigns and training programmes for Cox & Kings staff.

India has already cemented its position as one of the emirate’s leading source markets with an 80 per cent increase in visitors year-on-year (2014-2015).

UAE: Ras Al Khaimah Has Launched Its Tourism Vision For 2018

Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah are upbeat about attracting more visitors. Tourism authorities of both the emirates are participating at the World Travel Market, which is taking place in London until Thursday.

The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority announced its vision on Wednesday at the World Travel Market to attract one million visitors by the end of 2018.

Under the vision, the emirate will also increase the average length of stay from 3.1 days to 3.6 days and encourage repeat visits.

“Ras Al Khaimah has already been recognised as the fastest growing emirate in terms of tourism. Under the guidance of His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the emirate has seen impressive growth in visitor numbers across all of our top source markets, and we have laid out the Vision for 2018 to further build on this success,” Haitham Mattar, CEO of the authority, said in a statement.

To achieve its tourism vision, Ras Al Khaimah will focus on three key areas. First, it will broaden the emirate’s offerings, with a focus on business, culture and heritage events. Second, it will diversify its source markets. And third, it will boost its marketing efforts on rebranding and improving insights into travel trends and the travel habits of visitors to Ras Al Khaimah.

Meanwhile, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) said that the emirate is upbeat about attracting more visitors from international markets this year.

Sharjah aims to attract 10 million tourists to the emirate under the Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021. Its four key pillars are to promote the emirate as an ideal family tourism destination, adopt an innovative tourism approach, develop its tourism facilities and capabilities, and strengthen Sharjah’s position as an international cultural hub.

“The SCTDA’s participation in international exhibitions and events is focused on strengthening the emirate’s tourism industry in the global markets and promoting the major development projects adopted by the Authority to enhance the tourism experience,” stated Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, chairman of the authority.
