Greek airline Ellinair, a member of the Mouzenidis Group, is expanding its domestic network of destinations by adding three new weekly flights connecting Athens with the island of Rhodes in the Dodecanese.
Our aim is to meet the needs of visitors and the residents of Rhodes as the local authorities and the travel community have requested for the improvement of the island’s air connectivity, Ellinair CEO Ioannis Mouzenidis said in an announcement.
The flights will be conducted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday by an Airbus A319, for the period of June 4 – October 1, 2018, while the airline is considering to increase the frequency in the future.
We will continue to expand our itineraries and fleet, according to the business plan announced recently by the group’s President Boris Mouzenidis,” Ioannis Mouzenidis underlined.
Ellinair also connects Rhodes with Thessaloniki for a second year, with two weekly flights on Fridays and Sundays.
Launched in 2013, Ellinair is based in Thessaloniki and operates scheduled and charter flights to Greece.
Ellinair network of destinations today includes more than 40 cities, many of them in Russia.
Ellinair operates a fleet of 10 aircraft and plans to add two more next year.

GERMANY: Hahn Air and Mauritania Airlines partner
The German scheduled airline, Hahn Air, announced the start of an interline partnership with Mauritania Airlines International (L6).
This agreement enables the national flag carrier of Mauritania to tap into new markets where they are not a member of the local Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP).
Thereby, Mauritania Airlines International expands its commercial reach to over 100,000 travel agencies in 190 markets worldwide while its flights are now available on the HR-169 ticket in the Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) Amadeus and Galileo.
Mauritania Airlines International will join Hahn Air’s network of more than 300 air, rail and shuttle partners benefiting from Hahn Air’s distribution services.
We are delighted to partner with Hahn Air, the world’s leading ticketing distribution provider. With this new cooperation, we aim to access new streams of revenue whilst giving passengers worldwide the opportunity to benefit from our travel offerings in Africa and beyond, says Mohamed Radhy Bennahi, CEO of Mauritania Airlines International.
Mauritania Airlines International is based at Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport (NKC) and serves ten destinations in eight countries, mainly across West Africa, such as Casablanca (Morocco), Tunis (Tunisia) and Las-Palmas (Spain).
Mauritania Airlines International operates a fleet consisting of two Boeing 737 “Classic”, two Boeing 737 “Next Generation” and one Embraer aircraft and is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Arab Air Carriers' Organization (AACO) and the African Airlines Association (AFRAA).
Steve Knackstedt, Vice President of the Airline Business Group at Hahn Air said: We are proud to welcome Mauritania Airlines International into our network of partner carriers, further broadening our presence in the African market with now 49 partners connecting destinations across all 54 countries on the continent. Under the agreement, Mauritania International Airlines will benefit from additional ticket sales and our travel agent partners will have access to yet another carrier whose tickets they would normally not be able to issue.
