CYPRUS: Let’s eat street food!
The street food culture is not big in Cyprus. Last July, two friends, who study in UK and are keen cooks and foodies, decided to bring that culture back to their country, by organizing the Fork Food Market.
The event used to take place every Friday in Nicosia and various vendors participated cooking burgers, burritos, churros ( the Spanish sweet delicacy), pulled pork, kebabs, falafels even the Vietnamese buns, the “Gua Bao ”.
There were also drinks and beers and DJs were playing their tunes.
This was happening for four consecutive Fridays and it became the talk of the town.
That’s why, the Fork Food Market, continues, its second series, during September again every Friday from 18.00 onwards. The street food festival, takes place inside Nicosia Municipal Gardens in a beautiful place.
Each time , more and more vendors participate, thus accommodating everybody’s tastes. Food from around the world is being offered, from vegetarian dishes, pasta, burgers, tacos to homemade sweets and so on.
Let’s go to Fork!
