Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport will add a luxury duty-free shopping experience to its Terminal D, reports The New York Times.
The upgrade will see six shopping areas spread over 20,000 square feet of space, to include both luxury and premium retail brands. Local retailers like western clothing and accessories line Bohlin Company and Fort Worth-based TX Whiskey will join designer labels like Gucci, Dior, Burberry and Chanel.
Within the space will be a two-story, 13,000 square-foot store, plus an executive lounge and specialty shops. A sculpture by Texan artist James Surls will hang over the central store to capture the spirit of the Lone Star state.
The new duty-free shopping space is expected to open in 2016.
