Police are on the lookout for a Norwegian tourist who is believed to have caused a serious car crash in early hours of Wednesday morning before fleeing the scene of the accident.
According to traffic police, the accident occurred just before the Rizoelias roundabout in Larnaca when the rental car – that has been traced back to a Norwegian man who is said to have been on the island for around a month – collided head-on with a car carrying five people. Investigators say that the rental car had driven down the wrong lane.
The passengers in the other car were rushed to Larnaca General Hospital where one of the men is said to have suffered serious injuries. The rest are said to have suffered minor injuries.
