The first Ghanaian paragliding pilot, Jonathan Quaye, has expressed his joy in taking part in the just-ended paragliding festival held as part of the Easter celebrations in Kwahu in the Eastern Regio. He was successfully trained in Pune, India.

The festival attracted 10 pilots of international repute from the USA, Peru, Japan, France and Belgium.

An interview he granted and published by the Statesman on Monday, said his training lasted six months after expressing interest in having a career in paragliding.

He urged Ghanaians to also develop interest in the field by taking the bold step to train in paragliding.

The paragliding event in Ghana has become a very prominent tourism attraction event that is organised annually as part of the Easter celebrations in the Eastern Region.

In the previous years, only pilots from abroad took part in it, but the inclusion of Quaye, gives the country hope that more Ghanaians would soon take part in it.
