UAE: SuperCasa Plans Five-star Hotel On Al Marjan

SuperCasa, an international developer, has announced plans to build its first five-star hotel on a 75,000-sq-ft plot on the Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah’s first man-made island project.

The hotel will have 320 beach-facing rooms, two fine dining restaurants, two casual restaurants, a pool, spa and gym facilities. Construction is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2016 for completion by the end of 2018.

“We are delighted to announce our first hotel investment on Al Marjan Island. The ambitious project has been designed to become an iconic five-star property on the island. As a developer, we will ensure project completion in two years, to deliver a world-class luxury property by 2019," said Abdulrahman Al Houti, Director of SuperCasa.

Investing in Ras Al Khaimah is attractive due to huge advantages enjoyed by investors, as well as quick return on investment (ROI) and growth opportunities, he said.

"We have selected Al Marjan Island because of the high guest numbers all year round,” he added.

Architect Abdullah Rashed Al Abdouli, managing director of Al Marjan Island (AMI) Company, said: “AMI has proved once again its leading position in the emirate. We are looking forward to seeing this SuperCasa project come to life over the next two years. AMI is witnessing exceptional demand for hotel investments, which will lead to a stronger position on the local and regional tourism map.”

The announcement comes at a time when the 2018 Vision of Ras Al-Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAK TDA) has chalked out an ambitious plan to attract one million visitors to the UAE emirate by the end of 2018. The same vision aims to boost the tourism revenues to Dh4 billion ($1.088 billion) and provide jobs to around 15,000 people.
