CANADA: WestJet Encore To Fly Halifax To Boston

WestJet Encore commenced services between Halifax (YHZ) and Boston (BOS) on 15 April. The 665-kilometre sector will be served by the carrier daily on its 78-seat Q400 fleet.

Flights will face direct competition from Air Canada which operates 16 weekly flights.

Ferio Pugliese, President of WestJet Encore and EVP WestJet, commented on the launch: “WestJet Encore is pleased to begin flying year-round between Halifax Stanfield Airport and Boston’s Logan Airport.

We are delighted to join these two cities, which have historically shared a strong bond.

This is another example of WestJet Encore’s expanding network in Atlantic Canada, which is providing both business and leisure travellers with more choice along with lower fares and caring WestJet service.”

Halifax becomes the second WestJet Encore destination to be served from Boston, with the carrier inaugurating services to the US city from Toronto Pearson a few weeks previous. WestJet’s other US routes from Halifax are all to destinations in Florida; Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa.
