Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ (SLH) today announced the ongoing expansion of Hyatt's and SLH's existing loyalty alliance, celebrating a milestone of over 200 participating SLH hotels around the world for World of Hyatt members to earn and redeem points and enjoy on-property benefits.

This latest expansion has quadrupled the number of participating SLH properties since the alliance launched in November 2018, and its expansion is expected to continue throughout 2019.

We encourage World of Hyatt members to explore these luxurious destinations around the globe, from Croatia to New Zealand, said Amy Weinberg, senior vice president, World of Hyatt.

GREECE: Grand Hyatt Athens, The Second Hyatt Property In Greece Opens

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced today the opening of Grand Hyatt Athens, marking the first Hyatt hotel in the Greek capital and the first Grand Hyatt branded hotel in Greece.

The property is located on Syngrou Avenue next to the Onassis Cultural Centre and combines dramatic architecture with innovative design, easily accessible to historic sites and best-in-class restaurants.

The vibrant city of Athens offers countless activities for all types of visitors. At the same time, it is also known as the historic capital of Europe – an ancient city with rich culture, iconic sites and attractions.

Athens is fast becoming the destination of choice where ancient history sits alongside modern coffee shops and rooftop bars, said Nikos Trikourakis, general manager of Grand Hyatt Athens.

Celebrating iconic Greek culture, the 309-room hotel incorporates curated art reminiscent of ancient Athens.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa in the southernmost region of Japan.

Located on the private Seragaki Island and linked by a bridge to the main island of Okinawa, the hotel offers a stunning view of the East China Sea from all 344 guest rooms.

PHILIPPINES: Hyatt Regency Clark Set To Open 2022

A Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Donggwang Clark Corporation for a 350-room Hyatt Regency hotel in Clark, Philippines, located less than 70 miles northwest of Metro Manila.

We are delighted to collaborate with DCC on Hyatt Regency Clark, which will mark the return of the Hyatt Regency brand to the Philippines, said Asia Pacific Group President, David Udell, Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

We are excited to expand Hyatt’s brand presence in the Philippines, where we are seeing a rise in leisure and business travelers.

The new hotel, like other Hyatt Regency properties around the world, will be intuitively designed to make guests feel at home while connecting them to what matters most.

Set to open in 2022, Hyatt Regency Clark will be part of DCC’s 763.5-acre integrated mixed-use project, D’ Heights Resort, which includes two 18-hole golf courses, a duty-free shopping mall, an indoor water park, residential towers, and an IT park.

The hotel will feature flexible and comfortable interior design, bars and restaurants, a large ballroom, fitness center, and swimming pool.

Hyatt Regency Clark will be located in the Clark Freeport Zone (CFZ).

With government plans for a 65-mile train line to link Clark with Metro Manila by 2022, the travel time between the two cities is expected to reduce to one hour.

Plans are also underway for the expansion of the Clark International Airport to accommodate more travelers. As of 2017, the CFZ attracted more than 700 corporations to set up offices in the city.

MALAYSIA: Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur Set To Open 2021

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn.

Berthed, for the first Park Hyatt hotel in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia.

The high class hotel, designed to meet the needs of the discerning global traveler, will join the city’s prestigious development – the PNB 118 tower.

Expected to be completed in 2020, the tower is expected to be the tallest skyscraper in Southeast Asia and the third tallest in the world.

Set to open in 2021, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur will offer a one-of-a kind experience for guests as it will occupy the top 17 floors of the 118-floor tower overlooking Stadium Merdeka, Malaysia’s national treasure and a UNESCO heritage site, where the country’s independence was declared in 1957.

Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is the first brand to announce plans to join the PNB 118 tower development, which will redefine the Kuala Lumpur skyline with its classic and contemporary aesthetics.

The hotel will boast 232 guestrooms, including 28 suites and 30 residential apartments.

True to the Park Hyatt brand, the hotel is being designed to offer guests warm, intimate experiences, including residentially-inspired spaces such as galleries and libraries.

The hotel will feature more than 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting spaces for events and celebrations.

With three on-site restaurants and bars, guests will also be able to experience exceptional food and beverage services, a signature restaurant, and a skyline-level bar and restaurant.

Grounded in mindfulness, the hotel will provide luxurious wellness offerings including a six-treatment room spa, state-of-the-art fitness center and a swimming pool with city views of Kuala Lumpur.

The Merdeka 118 Precinct project is anticipated to attract business and leisure travelers from around the world and will include the PNB 118, a tower spanning more than three million square feet that will be compromised of Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, office space and an observation deck.

Major infrastructure plans are underway to improve accessibility to the precinct including the Merdeka Mass Rapid Transit station (MRT), which is already in operation, and construction of two tunnels for vehicular access to the tower.

CAMBODIA: Hyatt Hotels Corporation Enters Management Agreement With Chip Mong Group

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Chip Mong Group for a Hyatt Regency hotel in Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh. Expected to open in 2020, Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh will mark the first Hyatt Regency hotel in Cambodia, and will add to Hyatt’s growing footprint in Southeast Asia.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the launch of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, a global collection of unique and independent stay experiences. The properties within The Unbound Collection by Hyatt – which will include historic urban gems, contemporary trend-setters, boutique hotels, resorts, and more – will have their own individual brand identities, free from constraint or convention. At the same time, the brand will provide guests the freedom from worry by giving them the high-quality that comes with the Hyatt brand.

The Unbound Collection by Hyatt launches with properties around the world, including The Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas; the Hôtel du Louvre in Paris, France; the Carmelo Resort & Spa in Carmelo, Uruguay; and the Coco Palms Resort in Kauai, Hawaii, which is expected to undergo a revitalisation and re-open in spring 2018. USA: Philip Schaetz Becomes Vice President, Sales & Marketing At Marco Polo Hotels

Marco Polo Hotels has announced the commencement of Mr. Philip Schaetz as Vice President, Sales & Marketing, succeeding Dr. Jennifer Cronin who was promoted to President of the company last month.

Most recently in the capacity of Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing of Dorsett Hospitality International, Philip was instrumental in successfully launching the Dorsett brand portfolio, resulting in the hotel chain winning several accolades, including Travel Weekly Asia’s coveted Reader’s Choice award for Best Hotel Chain (regional) in 2015.

Philip spent 16 years with Hyatt Hotels Corporation and held senior management positions at both corporate and property level across Europe, Asia Pacific and the Head Office in Chicago. He achieved the role of Vice President of Revenue Management for Hyatt’s International portfolio based in Chicago. Prior to his Dorsett tenure, he was Vice President of Revenue Management and Distribution for the Minor Hotel Group Ltd in Thailand. Philip is well-versed in sales, revenue management and distribution, electronic distribution and marketing strategies, public relations, brand development and sales training.

Philip graduated from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada (UNLV) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel Administration.
