JAMAICA: Food And Drink Festival

As a brand, Jamaica resonates with international audiences well beyond its actual square footage – our music, our speak, our creativity, our food, all continue to grab global attention.

The Jamaica Food & Drink Festival was inspired by this audacious, pervasive cultural energy that has translated into the bold flavours of our cuisine and the pungent, heady sensibilities of our spirits.

We already have events with global reach that celebrate our music, films and fashion, even our herbs, so we thought, why not showcase our gastronomic ingenuity and boost our tourism product while we’re at it by adding to our ever growing list of Jamaican festivals.. And voila! The Jamaica Food & Drink Festival was born.

On a more nationalistic front, this event, when evolved to its true potential, stands to bolster the business behind the food industry in Jamaica. Think of the generation of increased economic activity for the chefs, caterers and culinary gurus who participate, the restaurants, hotels and eateries that house them, and the amazing spin offs it would create for local suppliers of goods and services to the food industry. Now expand the horizon of your thinking to what this means when we introduce global exposure to the product. The world will understand that Jamaica is so much more than Sun, Sand, Sea and Bob, – this benefits our tourism product, could increase our exports of both goods and services and help generate much needed foreign exchange.

Herein lies the genesis of the Jamaica Food and Drink Festival – a 4 day celebration of the finest food and drink Jamaica has to offer.

More Than A Festival – It’s a Lifestyle

Think South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBE) with a dash of Caribbean mojo, we refer to it as our own ‘SOBE ON THE ROCK’. The Jamaica Food & Drink Festival is a celebration of great spirits, fine foods, live entertainment, culinary celebrities and more. It’s four days of diverse, all-inclusive gastronomic exploits, a weekend plus to indulge in a lifestyle where your biggest decision will be – how do I pick which event to attend?
