Flexjet is now the first fractional provider to offer Gulfstream’s newest jet, the G450LXi, which was delivered on June 23 during a ceremony at Gulfstream’s headquarters in Savannah, Ga. The jet is the first of at least 22 new Gulfstream aircraft that Flexjet has ordered.
The Gulfstream G450LXi can carry up to 16 passengers, with berthing for six, and is outfitted with a custom three-zone interior designed to appeal to Flexjet customers. The jet can travel up to 5,000 miles nonstop, at speeds up to 670 mph (Mach 0.88). Prime cabin amenities include 100 percent fresh air, low cabin altitude, quiet noise levels, and 12 extra-large oval windows for abundant light.
Flexjet formerly flew all Bombardier aircraft, but recently has expanded its fleet to include some Embraer Phenom jets, as well as the Gulfstreams. Its initial order includes 10 of the G450LXi and six of the G650LXi, which is set to start deliveries early next year.
Flexjet also will be the first fractional provider for the G500LXi, an all-new design that will carry 12 passengers for up to 5,750 miles. Those jets are scheduled to start deliveries in 2018. The company also has options to order up to 28 additional jets from Gulfstream.
