INDIA: Female Pakistani Commando Guards Indian Sikhs As They Visit ‘Nankana Sahib’ On Religious Tour


Nankana Sahib is a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan, where Baba Guru Nanak Dev was born.

A picture of female Pakistani commando guarding Indian Sikhs has gone viral on social media as the Sikhs are on a religious tour to Pakistan.

According to reports, the picture was captured at Wagah Railway Station which reflects many things. The picture which went viral on social media had sparked two serious discussions among India and Pakistan. On one hand the photograph dissolves the religious differences between the two countries and on the other side it is burying the stereotypes about Pakistani women.

Hundreds of Indian Sikh every year arrive at Pakistan to celebrate birth anniversary of spiritual leader Baba Guru Nanak,in Lahore. This year on Wednesday Sikh’s across the world celebrated 547th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

Smitha Deepak who first shared the picture, wrote on her Facebook post, “I absolutely love this pic, so much power in this one pic! A Pakistani female police commando stands guard as Indian Sikh pilgrims arrive at Wagah railway station near Lahore, Pakistan, on Friday. Hundreds of Indian Sikh pilgrims arrived in Pakistan by a special train to participate in the three-day festival to celebrate the 547st birth anniversary of their spiritual leader Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikh religion, at Nankana Sahib near Lahore”.

Nankana Sahib is a city and capital of Nankana Sahib District in the Punjab province of Pakistan, where Baba Guru Nanak Dev was born. The city holds a high religious importance and is famous among pious Sikhs across the world.

When it comes to religion, both India and Pakistan are on the different sides. Experts believe that the idea of Pakistan came into existance as some Muslims wanted a separate country.
