India and Bulgaria on Monday discussed issues of mutual cooperation for promoting tourism in the two countries. The discussion took place during a meeting here between Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma and his Bulgarian counterpart Nikolina Angelkova.
“They discussed the issues of mutual cooperation for the promotion of tourism sector in both the countries,” the tourism ministry said in a statement. Sharma assured the visiting minister of the cooperation of his ministry in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, saying “all possibilities would be explored for promoting tourism”.
Lack of direct air connectivity between India and Bulgaria was one of the major reasons for the small number of tourists travelling between the two countries, the statement said.
