TANZANIA: Cheeters

- The cheetah’s name derives from the Hindu word “Chita” which simply means “the spotted one”

- Why the cheetah is not a true cat; true cats have retractable claws which are missing in the cheetah.

- Cheetahs are the fastest land mammal at a speed of up to 110 km/hr.

- Young cheetahs resemble rattles snake in color in order to scare off potential predators.

- The cheetah population in Tanzania is rich because of the abundance of wildlife they can hunt and much of Tanzania is protected parks.
