A tyre of a Delhibound Air India plane from Renigunta with over 180 passengers on board was found deflated after landing at the airport from Hyderabad following which the flight was briefly stalled leading to a delay of over three hours.

The flight (AI-542) on the Delhi-Hyderabad-Tirupati route landed safely at Renigunta airport on Monday at about 1.37 pm.

However, when it was inspected for the onward flight to Delhi via Hyderabad, one of its tyres was found deflated.

There was a delay of about three hours as the Air India plane's spare tyre along with engineers and technicians had to be brought in from Chennai on another plane. The plane, finally took off for Hyderabad at around 7 pm.

All the passengers were taken to the terminal while the tyre was being replaced, said airport officials.
