VIETNAM:Vietnam Airlines Considers Reducing Direct Flights To Russia

According to the Vietnam Administration of Tourism, Vietnam attracted 330,000 Russian tourists in the first 11 months of 2014, up 25 percent from last year.

However, the number of Russian tourists booking for December has declined over 50%. The main reason is due to the devaluation of the ruble. The ruble has depreciated 60% against the US dollar in 2014.

As usual, this time the Russians often travel to avoid the cold, but do not have a good signal for travel companies, when they were reduced to 50% service charge which is not attracted Russian tourists.

Other companies said they have suffered losses through charter flights from Russia and they will have many flights canceled if the number of Russian tourists continues to decline.

Vietnam Airlines said it has begun a review of direct flights to Russia due to the reduced number of passengers.
