UAE: Dubai Customs Prohibits Entry Of Philippine Balut

A public advisory released by the Philippine Consul General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates stated that the entry of commercial and non-commercial quantities (for personal consumption) of balut into Dubai without the necessary customs/ health certificates may result to its confiscation by Customs authorities and possible delay in immigration clearance of the bearer/s.

According to Philippine Consul Ferdinand Flores, the Philippine Consulate has received several confiscation reports of Philippine Duck Egg (balut) upon entry into Dubai as pasalubong from the Philippines, this incident has prompted them to issue the public announcement.
