Elewana Collection Growing In East Africa

Minor Hotel’s first entry into Africa was in 2008 when the group acquired 50% ownership of Elewana Collection, a group of 15 luxurious lodges, tented camps and boutique hotels in Kenya and Tanzania.

All facilities claim iconic locations providing exceptional game viewing, superior interior design, high service levels, culinary excellence and cultural experiences. The collection encompasses tree-houses, a manor house, beachside resorts and canvas hideaways on plains and mountain slopes.

In Kenya, properties include Lewa Safari Camp - Laikipia, Elsa’s Kopje - Meru, Joy’s Camp - Shaba, Kitich Camp - Mathew’s Forest, Elephant Pepper Camp - Mara, Sand River Masai Mara, Tortilis Camp - Amboseli and AfroChic Diani Beach.

The month of May marked the opening of the Loisaba Tented Camp. Located in the Loisaba Conservancy in Kenya, it is at the heart of three eco-systems, offering a variety of spectacular landscapes and incredible game viewing.

In Tanzania, the collection includes the Arusha Coffee Lounge, Tarangire Treetops, The Manor at Ngorongoro, Serengeti Pioneer Camp, Serengeti Migration Camp and Kilindi Zanzibar.

Each of the hotels takes the reduction of environmental impact seriously, through the use of renewable energy resources, local materials and waste management controls.
