José Angel Lopez Jorrin, Ambassador of Spain in Hungary, and Kam Jandu, Chief Commercial Officer, Budapest Airport, along with a Wizz Air crew member, present the cake at the launch of services to Tenerife South from Budapest on 30 October. The twice-weekly link will operate on Mondays and Fridays.
Wizz Air launched three new routes over the course of last week, starting on 27 October with services between London Luton (LTN) and Chisinau (KIV) in Moldova, a city pair which will operate thrice-weekly.
On 29 October, the LCC then commenced operations between Bucharest (OTP) and Pescara (PSR) in Italy. The 988-kilometre airport pairing will be served twice-weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.
Finally, on 30 October, Wizz Air launched flights between Budapest (BUD) and Tenerife South (TFS). Services between the Hungarian capital and the Spanish island will also be flown twice-weekly on Mondays and Fridays.
All three of the new routes will be flown by the airline’s A320s, with none facing any incumbent carriers.
