GHANA: Passengers Stranded As Domestic Airlines Cancel Flights Due To Harmattan

Some Domestic airlines on Thursday cancelled flights from Accra to Kumasi and the Northern regional Capital, Tamale over the prevailing harmattan which is causing poor visibility.

The unfortunate development left some passengers stranded at the various airports across the country.

The development has also taken a toll on the operations of the airline companies.

Chief Executive Officer of Starbow, James Antwi in an interview said the flights had to be cancelled to ensure the safety of all passengers.

“The whole of today we haven’t had any flight to Tamale because of the visibility situation, the visibility is very low so it’s not safe for our operations,” Mr. Antwi said.
