Designer Donatella Versace will attend the official opening of the Palazzo Versace Hotel & Resort in Dubai on November 15. The vice president of the Versace Group will be in the UAE along with Versace CEO Jonathan Akeroyd and a number of international supermodels, the celebrated brand said in a statement.
The Palazzo Versace Dubai is only the second Versace-themed hotel in the world, after the one in Gold Coast, Austrialia. Located at the Dubai Cultural Village, its architecture is a mix of 16th century Italian palaces and a few Arabian influences. Donatella Versace, the artistic director of the brand, has personally designed the interiors and furniture for each of the 215 rooms.
To celebrate the opening, Versace will be bringing its couture collection to Dubai, straight from the runway in Paris. Versace will also be taking private appointments through the week, for fans to meet with the design team in person and review the collection.
“I am thrilled to attend the grand opening of Palazzo Versace Dubai. I visited the hotel prior to opening, and was amazed at its beauty. This truly is a luxury destination second to none in the world,” Donatella said in a statement. “I’m also excited to bring our couture collection to Dubai for the first time ever.
The United Arab Emirates is a very important market for Versace, and we have many brand loyalists living there. We’re so happy to be able to bring the Versace experience to the Middle East.”
