HONG KONG: Hong Kong Airlines Pleasing Passengers

Celebrating a birthday or anniversary with your significant other can be a joyous occasion, and now Hong Kong Airlines wants to be part of your moment with its "Sweeten You Up" package.

Hong Kong Airlines Limited announced its new in-flight service that allows passengers to call the airline ahead of time to help orchestrate surprise marriage proposals, wedding celebrations, anniversaries, birthdays or even just a formal presentation of a gift to a loved one.

Passengers simply have to purchase tickets on a flight and ask for the "Sweeten You Up" package. Once at the airport on the day of the flight, crew members will present a specially designed card to the couples, and customers will have the chance to order extras such as cake and champagne services.

Hong Kong Airlines official Stanley Kan released a statement about the new service, saying, “Upholding the people-oriented principle, Hong Kong Airlines is always committed to providing attentive and friendly service, and bringing an extraordinary flight experience to our passengers. By launching the new in-flight service 'Sweeten You Up,' we hope to enhance our service quality and offer a unique and unforgettable journey to all passengers and their loved ones.”

Even if you’re not getting engaged or celebrating a wedding anniversary, Hong Kong Airlines is still determined to make you happy, especially on your birthday. Everyone traveling on their special day will receive a themed boarding pass envelope with a specially designed birthday pin and Hong Kong Airlines chocolate box.

Once in the airport, the birthday pin tells employees of the airline to give the passengers a special greeting and allows customers pre-boarding privileges like access to the Hong Kong Airlines VIP lounge Club Bauhinia. Once on board the plane, passengers celebrating their birthdays will receive a card signed by the captain and cabin crew, and customers also have the option of cake and champagne services.

Hong Kong Airlines didn’t forget the children, and any kid (7-12 years old) will receive a travel journal, which is filled with interesting games and allows them to keep record of their journey. If children collect three stickers (one per flight) by June of 2016, they will be given a tour of the company’s aircraft and airport facilities.
