Chicken Schnitzel
Schnitzels made with various meats are served all over the world. However, they are most common in Europe. I first came across a proper schnitzel while visiting Austria where Wiener Schnitzel is served in most authentic local restaurants. In different countries, however, different meats are used to make a schnitzel. For instance, in Austria, you would find it mostly made of veal, while pork and chicken are also common as ingredients. In Germany and Finland, it is mostly served as pork while you also find turkey being used. In South American countries like Brazil and Columbia, you would find Schnitzels made of chicken, beef or fish. In Czech Republic, they are made with chicken or pork. It is not hard to see that it is a popular dish all over the world.
Well what actually is a schnitzel? It is a boneless meat, tenderized then coated with eggs, bread crumbs and sometimes flour and deep fried in oil. You would find it served along with salads, French fries, mashed potatoes etc. I’d been thinking of making schnitzel for a long time, so finally today I made chicken schnitzel. It is pretty easy to make and goes great for any of the main meals. For making a perfect schnitzel, make sure you tenderize the meat nicely, which brings out a great taste. I did so by leaving it soaked in salted water for some time before beating it with the tenderizer. So here is a simple step-by-step recipe for you to make Chicken Schnitzel. Hope you love this world famous dish.
