SRI LANKA: Sri Lanka Resort Boast Award-Winning Wine List

Cobblestone streets, dungeons, museums and gabled homes form the eclectic landscape of Galle, Sri Lanka. One of the Dutch Colonial town’s highlights is the luxurious Jetwing Lighthouse, a notable work by Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. Wine Spectator has recognized the resort’s Cardamom CafĂ© for its list of curated wines and earlier this summer the property was the setting for a master class and tasting of nine Grand Crus 2005 wines.

The family-owned hotel comprises 85 guestrooms and themed suites with touches including polished teak, Moorish designs, marble Jacuzzi tubs, jade green window glass and hints of Dutch heritage. Outside, a wide beach fronts the Indian Ocean, while inside attractions include a full-service spa with authentic Ayurvedic therapies. Customized three- and five-day spa getaway programs can be arranged upon request. Extensive business amenities also make the hotel a great destination for meetings and small conferences. The grand Eddystone Hall ballroom can seat up to 250 guests.
