Qatar Airways is to resume flights from its Doha hub to the Indian city of Nagpur on 1 December 2015, to the rhythm of a daily flight operated by Airbus A320 (configured with 12 seats in Business and 132 seats in Economy).
With the acquisition of this line, while Qatar Airways will offer a total of 102 flights to India, against 95 today to 13 Indian cities. Initially, the flight QR588 will depart Doha at 7:55 p.m. to land in Nagpur at 2:15 the next day. In return, the flight QR589 will leave Nagpur at 3:45 to land at Doha to 5:55.
After suspending the line in May 2009, Qatar Airways will return to Nagpur, located in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Because, Nagpur became meanwhile an important economic center, with a new international airport project. "The resumption of the Doha-Nagpur road is part of Qatar Airways' strategy to meet demand by offering the best flying experience to our customers to India. The interest of Gulf companies to India is not new, probably because of seven million Indian expatriates living in their respective countries. There Emirates Airlines has the largest market share, followed by Etihad Airways invested in the Indian airline Jet Airways. For its part, Qatar Airways is negotiating to take shares in IndiGo, the country's first airline.
