Emaar Hospitality Group’s The Address Downtown will re-open around mid-2017, said Chris Newman, Corporate Director of Operations during his recent visit to Mumbai. The property was shutdown after a fire broke out during New Year ’s Eve celebration last year. This is the first announcement on re-opening the iconic property. Speaking at the Emaar Hospitality Group roadshow held at Four Seasons Mumbai, he also stated that this year the Group will witness the opening of Dubai Opera around October.
Talking about the business, Newman said, “It (hotel industry) is not getting any easier, so we need to stay on our toes. For the products that we already have, we need to invest in and make them even better.”
He added that The Palace Downtown Dubai and The Address, Dubai Mall will undergo renovation next year. Also, in 2017, the group will also witness completion of The Address Residences Sky View, which is scheduled for March.
