ZAMBIA: The Lungwebungu Fishing Safari

The Lungwebungu Fishing Safari is the flagship fishing safari of Royal Barotse Safaris and offers a really unique, once in a lifetime fishing safari on the Barotse floodplains. With the increases in river usage, netting and commercial fishing, finding un-touched and remote fishing destinations is a real challenge and generally, you need to head into remote areas to find them.

And that’s what the Lungwebungu is all about – this remote river is only fished by Royal Barotse Safaris for 6 weeks of the year where we host 5 groups of 8 anglers in a world class mobile fishing safari camp.

Camp comes equipped with everything you need to enjoy maximum comfort including ice cold drinks, plenty of excellent food, hot showers and flush toilets all in the middle of nowhere!

The river is home to healthy populations of trophy tigerfish and bream, particularly nembwe, and we target the fish predominantly on lures and spinners or fly.

All fishing is done with guides, unlimited fuel and 2 anglers per boat and the entire experience is geared towards delivering a once in a lifetime fishing trip that has the feel of an exploration about it.

You can watch a short summary video of the experience here and we have 4 places left in 2 of our groups in May and June so book now to experience this unique fishing safari.
