Delta Air Lines Orders Ten A321 Aircrafts

Airbus announced a new order for 10 A321 made by Delta Air Lines on Tuesday during the Paris Air Show 2017.

As said by the manufacturer, this order makes total 122 for the aircraft type.

The A321 is fast becoming a favorite aircraft of our customers and employees,” said Delta Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management and Fleet, Greg May.

It’s excellent operating economics and customer capacity also makes it a great fit for our U.S. domestic network.

The aircraft is not a new purchase for Delta Air Lines; they already planned to replace older narrow-body planes being retired with the A321. The Atlanta-based carrier took delivery of its first A321 in March 2016.

And also recently in May, Delta ordered 30 A321s, while they deferred delivery of 10 A350s by a couple of years.

In 2013, the airline ordered 30 A321 and 10 A330, that was the first Delta’s purchase from Airbus in more than 20 years.

They also added to the A321 order in 2014 and again in 2016.

The 146-foot-long Delta’s A321 jets will seat 192 passengers: 20 in the First Class, 23 in Economy Comfort and 149 in Economy.

The planes will have in-flight wireless internet, power outlets at every seat and on-demand and live satellite TV.

The cabin has pivoting high-capacity overhead bins and full-spectrum ambient lighting.

The planes can fly up to 3,000 nautical miles with fuel efficient features such as winglets on the ends of the wings.
