MEXICO: Shooting Leaves Two Dead In Cancun

Six people were injured in a car accident in the intersection of 43 Street with Revolución Avenue, after the driver of a Jetta type car passed the stop and hit a Charger.

The Charger was hit on its left side and ended on the sidewalk, while the Jetta hit a grocery store, where later six injured persons were attended. The driver of the Jetta, alleged culprit of the accident, escaped from the scene.

The driver of the Jetta, when not respecting a preferential route , was hit in its front side right side by the front of the Charger, which with the impact was projected inside a DUNOSUSA store.

A huge security operation unfolded in the delegation Alfredo V. Bonfil, when an execution style shooting left two people dead and two wounded.

The incident started with a double execution in the ejido of Alfredo V. Bonfil; Then the events transformed into a chase on Huayacán Avenue.

According to versions of witnesses at the scene, three members of organized crime executed two people who were eating at a cocktail bar and then fled.

Elements of the Municipal Police took notice and began the persecution.

When the alleged hit men reached the intersection of Avenida Huayacán with Fonatur, they began exchanging shots with police.

Police forces cordoned off the area to conduct the corresponding investigations.

Unofficially, it was said that there would already be at least three detainees, but authorities still have not confirmed it.

With the two victims, there have been 61 executions in Cancun this year, the same number as recorded last year.
