HONDURAS: Guanaja's Conch Festival

Guanaja's Conch Festival is a day commemorating the discovery of our island by Christopher Columbus on July 30, 1502, which he named Isla de Pinos, Island of Pines. This annual event is held on the last week of July and certifies Guanaja as one of the great historic routes of Columbus on his 4th and last voyage.

This event is not only intended to celebrate Guanaja's rich heritage but to also encourage the development of tourism.

-Saturday July 21st: Coronation of carnival queen (ball field)
-Sunday July 22nd: Sports Day football match (airport field)
-Monday July 23rd: OFF
-Tuesday July 24th: Mangrove Bight
-Wednesday July 25th: Pelican Reef
-Thursday July 26th: Grahams Place
-Friday July 27th: The Cay
-Saturday July 28th: Savannah Bight
-Sunday July 29th: Soldado Beach - culmination of carnival, with water floats, dramatization of Christopher Columbus arrival to Guanaja, live music, food entertainment & more.

Each carnavalito will have, games, activities, live music, DJ, parades, foods, drinks & much more fun!!!! Come enjoy!
