NETHERLANDS: KLM Brings Better Reality For Luggage Check

KLM’s Augmented Reality (AR) hand baggage check uses a transparent, virtual KLM suitcase, indicating the allowable dimensions for hand baggage on board.

AR technology allows a virtual image to be placed in reality and used interactively.

This makes it easy for a passenger to check at home whether his hand baggage has the right dimensions.

The hand baggage check is available in the KLM app for iOS users who have booked a KLM flight.

The KLM App uses Apple’s AR technology.

KLM is among the leading companies in Apple’s Augmented Reality technology for providing service to its customers in the KLM App.

KLM will continue to develop and improve the service in the coming period so that it grows with the latest AR options.

The convenient new service follows other successful KLM AR initiatives, such as the 360-view of a Dreamliner plane in the KLM App.

The KLM Huisjesapp is also live with a new AR application. With iOS11 it is now possible to experience the story of Anthony Fokker’s Huisje 98 via Augmented Reality!

Click on the blue airplane icon and fly in a reality with different Fokker aircraft models.
