NIGERIA: Abuja Carnival

The Nigerian government says it is determined to improve the tourism sector to a turn of economic development.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo gave the commitment at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Abuja Carnival.

Represented by Presidential Aide, Femi Ojudu, Osinbajo says rejuvenating the country’s cultural troupes to international standard is also the key to the administration.

Twenty- two states took part in this year’s carnival with a series of display ranging from boat regatta, masquerades, and street dance.

Kogi State is the overall winner, with Ogun and Bayelsa trailing behind.
