GERMANY: Berlin Airports Passenger Traffic July 2017

According to the latest traffic reports, a total of 3.3 million passengers took off and landed at Berlin's Schönefeld and Tegel airports in the summer month of July.

Traffic Figures January to July 2017

• Passengers: From January to July 2017, some 19,580,974 passengers passed through Berlin's Schönefeld and Tegel airports. That's an increase of 6.9% compared with the same period last year. A total of 7,352,721 passengers took off and landed from Schönefeld (an increase of +16.5% on the same time period from the previous year), 12,228,253 (a +1.9% increase) flew from Tegel.

• Flights: The number of flights at Berlin's Schönefeld and Tegel airports rose to 164,759 take-offs and landings between January and July 2017, an increase of 2.2% compared with the same period in the previous year. At Schönefeld, the number of flights grew to 59,071 – an increase of 9.7%. At Tegel, the number of take-offs and landings came to 105,688 – a decrease of 1.6% in comparison to the previous year.

• Air cargo: A total of 30,815 tonnes of air cargo was recorded between January and July. That's an increase of 22.0% compared with the same period of the previous year. The volume of air cargo at Schönefeld reached 5,220 tonnes – 5.6% more than last year. Tegel recorded 25,585 tonnes (+26,0%).

• Passengers: In July 2017, some 3,300,277 passengers passed through Berlin's Schönefeld and Tegel airports. That's an increase of 7.4% compared with July 2016. A total of 1,174,922 passengers (+14.1%) flew from Schönefeld, whilst 2,125,355 passengers (+4.0%) flew from Tegel.

• Flights: The number of flights at Berlin's Schönefeld and Tegel airports rose to 25,839 take-offs and landings in July 2017, an increase of 5.2% compared with the same period in the previous year. At Schönefeld, the number of flights grew to 8,849 (9.2%). At Tegel, the number of flights went up to 16,990, an increase of +3.3% from July 2016.

• Air cargo: 5,009 tonnes of air cargo was recorded in July 2017 at Schönefeld and Tegel airports. That‘s an increase of 24.9% compared with July 2016. The volume of air cargo at Schönefeld reached 667 tonnes. That's 12.2% less than in July 2016. Tegel recorded 4,341 tonnes (+33.6%) of air cargo.
